School Aged Child Care Worker

Job Duties:

•To work with centre team to develop and implement the centre’s program. Communicate with parents on a daily basis, meeting the needs of our families.
•Provide a nurturing, fun and safe environment for school aged children.
•Lead children through a variety of activities including games, arts and crafts, and physical activity

Qualifications:

•Post-secondary education in the area of child care required
•Minimum 2 years related employment experience working with school aged children
•Demonstrated interpersonal skills working with school aged children and their families
•Empathy towards children with challenging behaviours and a sincere desire to assist them in reaching their potential
•Current first aid/CPR certification
•Valid Class 4 Drivers License required/need to secure within 2 months of position being offered

Director of Finance – 6 mth term

Job Duties:

A well established not-for-profit organization providing services to children and families throughout the Okanagan Valley requires the services of an experienced full-time, accountant for a 6 month term. Applicants should have experience with the not-for-profit sector. Qualifications the successful candidate will possess include:

•A recognized accounting designation,
•Strong working knowledge of ACCPAC (Corporate Edition) and Excel spreadsheets,
•Experience with various government and funding reports, required of Charitable and Registered Societies, and
•Familiarity with fund accounting in a not for profit environment

Qualifications:

Responsible for all aspects of the accounting functions including:
•preparation and presentation of financial statements,
•plans and administers accounting, cost control and/or budgeting systems,
•record of assets, liabilities and financial transactions,
•preparation of cash flow and forecasts,
•supervises accounting staff.

As a member of the management team, incumbent will provide leadership to the accounting staff, and advice and counsel to the Chief Executive Officer on all financial matters.
